Using similar processes Capital Technologies has improved the production of biofuels. First concentrating on processes to produce biodiesel (methyl esters) more economically, with less capital cost with fewer process steps and less hazardous waste. These processes can transform both triglycerides and free fatty acids to methyl esters. There is a separate process to convert extremely high free fatty acid content feedstocks such as sludges from rendering facilities. Research is also progressing on producing synthetic diesel, jet fuel and gasoline from vegetable and animal oils through a process of direct conversion.

Capital Technologies, Inc has technology and equipment to effectively remove oil from sand and dirt to remediate ground based oil spills. This technology is also useful in the extraction of useable feedstock for further refining from tar and oil sludges naturally occurring in many parts of the world. In a partnership with Organica, Inc., Capital Technologies can also add a biological remediation system to finish cleanup to the nano-particle level.
